Air Salvage of Dallas (ASOD) sits on eight manicured acres adjacent to the
Lancaster Airport.
Upon entering the facility you will be pleasantly surprised to find well kept lobby
and shop areas.
As you tour the shop you can't help noticing the Rudder
from Ricky Nelson's DC3.
ASOD has four conference rooms, mainly used during accident investigations. These
rooms along with the hallways are the most popular rooms to visit because their walls are
lined with pictures of different retrievals we have made.
There are multiple tear down/investigation areas with a range of limited privacy to
total seclusion for sensitive investigations. Part of these areas contain accident
reconstruction rooms for aircraft/vehicle/equipment. It is not unusual to find two or
three projects/investigations going on at the same time.
There are separate hangars for control surfaces, engines, and other large components
not stored in the shop.
The other hangars are used for storing aircraft, vehicles
or other equipment, that is being held
for litigation.
Last but not least is the salvage yard. Everyone
enjoys a trip through the yard, as there are many interesting stories behind the aircraft
resting there.
